Models Rule The Runway At The United Nations

I was honored to have been asked by author and celebrity stylist, Susan Moses to moderate a panel of distinguished panelists at the United Nations to discuss how the fashion and beauty industries and media can work together to continue the evolution of inclusivity and diversity. As a model for over ten years, I’ve seen the pendulum swing in the fashion industry to include a vast array people to best reflect the diversity in our country.…

Laugh And Have Fun While Changing Your Style

“I have good taste and know the best brands, but that doesn’t make me know how to dress or put an outfit together. I thought I did, but I don’t.  Thankfully, I met Bernadett (no ‘e’ as I call her).  As soon as I met her, I was instantly at ease. She has such a nice way about her, like she’s an old friend or an older sister.…

Speaking To Young Open Minds at the Fashion Institute of Technology

I was invited to speak to a class studying Business of Fashion Styling at the Fashion Institute of Technology to share my business and career advice to students who were stepping into careers in fashion. I was fortunate to attend FIT for my image consulting certificate and have since recommended it to so many aspiring fashionable business minded people. Here are a few tips I shared with the class: Set yourself apart from everyone else.…

It’s Time To Cut Your Hair And Change The Color

There’s a hair epidemic and you’re probably affected and don’t even know it. So many of us are running around with split ends, the wrong hair color (especially all you over processed blondes) and the wrong style. Why? Oh Why? If you’re still sporting the Jennifer Anniston cut from the 90’s or even better the “feathered birds nest” look (you know who you are) then PLEASE CALL ME I will steer you in the right direction.…

How Bernadett Bled Her Way Through The May Issue of O Magazine

Have you ever wanted to call in sick to work because you had cramps, heavy bleeding, been emotionally and physically exhausted and didn’t feel like being half naked in a room full of people, where you are the main focus? I found myself facing that very situation. At a recent shoot for O, the Oprah Magazine, where I’d been asked to model lingerie for their yearly Body Issue, a testament to body love and self acceptance, but this time, I couldn’t call out sick.  As I walked into the brightly lit photography studio, I saw the racks of nude lingerie awaiting me, as well as my co-model for the shoot, a beautiful, elegant size-zero model resembling Lupita Nyong’o.…

Book Editor Almost Edits Out a Perfect Outfit

“I wanted to call you or text on Thursday that you’re brilliant. On Thursday I finally wore the colorful print short sleeves blouse and the deep blue fit and flare skirt. I had been very unsure about this outfit as it is really not what I would ever pick out and I hadn’t even been sure that it looked good except that I trust your take on it. …

Inspiring Young Minds in Hampton, New Hampshire

It was a real honor to address the students at Winnacunnet High school who are part of the JAG program.   Incredibly cool students with bright futures. Nothing like a good press piece with a misquote.  Here’s what I said:  “There are so many fun parts of my job but one in particular is being in the green room with celebrities and hearing what they are really like.…

Judging Birmingham, Alabama

I recently visited friends in Birmingham, Alabama (YES, you read that right) and went for a beauty day in a popular local salon called Salon U (voted by Elle Magazine 2012 as TOP SALON in ALABAMA).  The salon is massive; I believe two floors, maybe more.  The service was impeccable!!! And so was the salon.  I’ve been modeling for nearly 10 years now and had many photo shoots and worked with several artists and stylists.  …
